Each dog needs time in a foster home before they can be adopted to a loving family and a foreverhome. As a foster, depending on a dog's needs you might just provide love, food and shelter, or in special cases, be the one to watch over a sick dog's recovery or give basic training to a puppy. It all depends on what kind of dog you would like to help. You can also decide what time-frame to devote to a needy dog: Temp-fostering involves periods of 1-4 weeks when a dog is going to be transferred elsewhere after a short period in your home. Typical fostering is a longer commitment to care for a dog throughout the process of locating a foreverhome; sometimes this only takes a week or two but in other cases can take months. While you foster we will engage with you regarding the process of matching the dog to a new owner; the search will be done via internet networking, public adoption events, email campaigns, individual meet-and-greets, and more. You can save a life and change a life!If you have questions or would like to learn more, please email our Chapter Director LoriPasch@yahoo.com . She will send you a list of current dogs that need fostering (so that you can look for an appropriate match for your home) and provide a FosterHome Application.
