Happy Pawlidays

On December 18, 2010, Found Animals and three Los Angeles area animal care agencies kicked off a weeklong discount adoption promotion just in time for the “Pawli-days.” At the kick-off event, Found Animals staff members worked with dozens of employees and volunteers at 14 shelter locations to adopt over 430 pets into loving homes in a single day! And that was just the beginning. The “Happy Pawlidays” adoption promotion ran through December 24th , and a total of 1,630 pets found new homes just in time for the holidays!

• Los Angeles Animal Services (LAAS) led the way with 800 adoptions
• The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control had 678 adoptions
• South East Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA) had 156 adoptions

2010 marks the second year that Found Animals has hosted a Los Angeles-wide adoption promotion for the holiday season, and adoptions are up by more than 1/3rd (33%) over the same period in 2008. That means that over 500 more pets found new homes in time for the holidays in 2010 than just two years ago!
