Price rating: $$

Featured dish: Grilled Hamburger patty and brown rice

With over 30 branches in five states including California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, and Texas, this laidback chain of pup-friendly restaurants is perfect for your pooch and you. While you chug a cold one, your pup can enjoy a grilled hamburger patty or chicken breast both with brown rice and veggies. Healthy and pet-friendly – sounds perfect to me!

3. The Dog Bar – Charlotte, North Carolina

Rating: ????????????????????

Price rating: $

Featured dish: NA

The Dog Bar combines some of the best things in life – beer, wine, music, and dogs! It’s one of the few places that allow dogs both indoors and out as long as they are well-behaved, up to date on vaccinations, and neutered/spayed. While there’s no food, you can go through menus of the best restaurants nearby for take-out. You can even host your pooch’s birthday party here. It’s essentially like a dog park, but with booze!

5. The Forge – Carmel, California

Restaurant Website: forgeintheforest.com

Social Media:  @Forgeintheforest

Rating: ????????????????

Price rating: $$$

Featured dish: Grilled and sliced New York Steak

This bistro-style eatery has an enviable canine menu that will make even human mouths water. Think kosher hot dogs, quarter-pound hamburger patty, grilled chicken, and even steak! YUM! Not to mention some delicious human food (yes, you can get steak too!) The dog-friendly patio is even called the “Pound Patio”. How adorable is that?!

4. The Morisson – Los Angeles, California

Restaurant Website: Morrisonpub.com

Social Media:  @Morrisonpubla

Rating: ????????????????

Price rating: $$

Featured dish: Chopped hot dogs with rice

You can trust LA to have a restaurant where dogs are served on silver trays, milk bones included. Humans can chow on their renowned burgers and desserts, while your pup can choose from hamburger, chicken, or chopped hot dogs, all served with rice. That’s not a lot of variety I know but hey, it’s on a silver platter (and I doubt the dog will mind!). It does not get fancier than that!

6. Tin Shed Garden Cafe – Portland, Oregon

Restaurant Website: Tinshedgardencafe.com

Social Media:  @Tinshedgardencafe

Rating: ????????????????

Price rating: $$

Featured dish: Doggie Ice Cream

At the quirky Tin Shed Garden Café, it’s all about being one big happy family, and that includes your furbabies. Dogs are welcome on the patio and there’s even a menu for them which includes chicken and sweet potatoes or peanut butter banana ice cream. Mmm ice cream! Buy a Tin Shed doggie bandana and they will donate all proceeds to Puplandia Dog Rescue. If you visit again with your pupper wearing the bandana, you will even get half off on their doggie meal.

7. Sea Glass Restaurant at Inn by the Sea – Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Restaurant Website: innbythesea.com

Social Media:   @innbythesea.maine

Rating: ????????????????????

Price rating: $$$

Featured dish: Doggie Gumbo

If your doggo is a water baby, take them to this restaurant where they can enjoy the ocean and chow down on delicious food like “Doggie Gumbo” (Angus beef tips, veggies, and rice) or “The Bird Dog” (Grilled chicken, veggies, and rice). The inn doesn’t mind overnight canine guests either, so you can make a night of it. It’s a lovely place, where you can even meet (and hopefully adopt) dogs fostered by the owners. Apparently more than 90 dogs have found their forever homes thanks to them. Gotta love that!

I may get flack for saying this, but if parents can bring kids into every restaurant, why can’t I take my dogs? After all, they’re well-behaved (better than some children!) and love food as much as the next person! I suppose it is what it is and until things change, at least we can take our fur babies to these amazing 7 restaurants in the US:

1. Morristown Deli – Morristown, New Jersey

Restaurant Website: Morristowndeli.com

Social Media:  @morristowndeliandpetcafe

Rating: ????????????????

Price rating: $$

Featured dish: No Bones About It

Not only is this deli dog-friendly, but they also offer doggie high chairs and booster seats so your babies can dine at the table with you on the outdoor patio. You’ll be happy to munch on their famous deli meats like pastrami, corned beef, or smoked fish.  They also have a special doggie menu with delicious-sounding options like “Fur-ever Friends” (scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese), “Puppy Chow” (sweet potatoes, minced beef, and gravy), “No Bones About It” (liver, eggs, and rice) and more! Plus they’re more than happy to also plan a “pawty” if that’s what you’re looking for.
